**Sumba Island Escapes is an independent editorial guide. We are not NIHI Sumba, not Nihiwatu Resort, and we are neither owned by, endorsed by, nor affiliated with that resort or its parent companies. We name it only to inform travellers, under nominative fair use. All bookings are arranged through vetted licensed partners.**
This page sets out, in plain language, who runs this website, what we are responsible for, and what we are not. It applies to every page on nihiwatuhotel.com. Please read it before you rely on anything published here.
Who runs this site, and who does not?
Sumba Island Escapes is published by Juara Holding Group and operated day-to-day as a travel concierge by Bali Premium Trip. It is an editorial and trip-planning resource covering luxury travel on Sumba Island — the coast around NIHI Sumba, the Occy’s Left surf break, waterfalls, ikat-weaving villages, and private-villa stays.
We have no ownership stake in, commercial agency with, or booking authority over NIHI Sumba (formerly Nihiwatu Resort) or any property we describe. The table below draws the line clearly.
| We ARE | We are NOT |
|---|---|
| An independent guide to the Sumba luxury-travel area | The NIHI Sumba / Nihiwatu resort or its website |
| A concierge that arranges stays and transfers via partners | An owner, agent, or booking channel of the resort |
| A publisher of dated, indicative travel information | A source of live resort rates, availability, or reservations |
| Reachable for planning help by WhatsApp and email | Endorsed, sponsored, or authorised by the resort |
If you intend to book NIHI Sumba directly, contact the resort through its own official channels. We cannot confirm resort availability, alter a resort reservation, or speak on the resort’s behalf.
What does “non-affiliation” actually mean here?
It means there is no documented relationship between Sumba Island Escapes and NIHI Sumba. We do not receive instruction from the resort, we do not represent it, and nothing we publish should be read as an official resort statement. Any trademarks, resort names, and brand marks remain the property of their respective owners. A separately operated “NIHIWATU Bali Office” is on record historically at the Kuta Poleng Complex Block C/2, Kuta 80361 — that address is not us, and we are not connected to it.
Why do we name NIHI Sumba and Occy’s Left at all?
We reference these names under nominative fair use: the limited, honest use of a name to identify the real thing being discussed. There is no accurate way to write a guide to this stretch of Sumba’s south-western coast, in West Sumba Regency roughly 30 km from Waikabubak, without naming the landmarks travellers are searching for. We use these names to inform — never to imply sponsorship, partnership, or approval.
How current are the prices and figures on this site?
Treat every figure as indicative and time-stamped, not a quote. Currency rates, resort tariffs, flight times, and fees change without notice. Two examples of how we date our figures:
- The NIHI jet-ski service to Occy’s Left is reported at rates ↗++ per day (the “++” means tax and service charge are added on top) — very roughly USD 150–175 as of 2026, an approximation that moves with exchange rates.
- Historic 2015 villa rates (a one-bedroom from USD 787 in green season) are published only as historical context, as of the year cited, subject to change — they are not current pricing.
Where sources disagree — for instance, the Tambolaka Airport (code TMC) to Nihiwatu Beach drive, cited variously as about 60.8 km / 1 hour 35 minutes or a 90-minute run — we give a realistic range rather than a false precision. Always reconfirm live prices, schedules, and seasons directly with the operator before you commit money.
Is anything on this site financial, legal, or tax advice?
No. Nothing on Sumba Island Escapes is financial, legal, immigration, investment, or tax advice, and we are not licensed advisers in any of those fields. Notes about Sumba’s economy, the announced approval of the island’s first international airport, or growing resort investment are general context only. For decisions with financial or legal consequences, consult a qualified, licensed professional in the relevant jurisdiction.
We also do not invent detail we cannot stand behind. Sumba is genuinely known for traditional ikat textiles, weaving villages, waterfalls, wild horses, and the February–March Pasola festival — but where a reliable source does not name a specific village, waterfall, or per-tour price, we say so rather than fabricate one.
How are bookings and payments handled?
We do not sell or process resort reservations on this website. When you ask us to arrange a stay, transfer, or activity, that commercial request is handled by our concierge and fulfilled through the generic owned booking domain sumbaislandtour.com and vetted licensed partners. Where we do not own the asset, services are arranged via vetted licensed partners, and their own terms, cancellation rules, and liability apply to the service delivered. We act as an intermediary that connects you to those providers; we are not the operator of the resort itself.
How do we handle your personal data?
When you contact us by WhatsApp or email, we collect only what you choose to share — typically your name, contact detail, travel dates, and trip preferences — and use it solely to answer you and arrange what you request.
We process personal data in line with Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law (Undang-Undang No. 27 Tahun 2022, “UU PDP”). We are also aware that visitors from the European Union and United Kingdom are protected by the GDPR, and we apply comparable principles: lawful purpose, data minimisation, and retention no longer than needed. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it beyond the licensed partners required to fulfil your specific request.
| Your right | What it means |
|---|---|
| Access | Ask what personal data we hold about you |
| Correction | Ask us to fix inaccurate or outdated details |
| Deletion | Ask us to erase your data when there is no lawful reason to keep it |
| Withdraw consent | Tell us to stop contacting you at any time |
To exercise any of these, use the contact routes below.
